I noticed a solitary group of green foliage growing in our yard about a month ago, and as a detester of weeds I was about to pull it up. However, I am glad I didn't because look at the curious little flower that grew out of this little green tuft : ). I have no idea what kind it is, but I thought it was really neat. Does anyone know what kind of flower this is?

I think it is some kind of Dianthus.
