Digging Up Our Front Yard

I don't know how interesting this will be to all of you, but shortly after we bought our house we discovered that we had a broken sewer line; the break was right in the middle of our front yard. A plumber gave us a bid of $3,700 to fix it, but my wonderful husband knew we could do it for less : )! And we did - it cost us under $500 to fix in the end including the back-hoe rental and the new pipes. Way to go Karl and the rest of you who helped! The night before we dug up our yard, Karl had the best idea ever to dig up our lawn in sections so we could replant it in the spring. This was a daunting task because it was SO COLD, but I'm so glad he was willing to do this because it saved our lawn!
This is our awesome friend Shawn Rowberry saving the day by running the back-hoe. Shawn is a professional grave digger for Provo City : ) and did a perfect job digging up our old sewer line. Doug Fallon (the Provo City building inspector and friend) and John Larson (awesome family friend) were also a huge help to us, and we don't know what we would have done without them. Thanks guys : )!
This is the trench Karl and Shawn dug.
